343 Industries explains the Infinity in Halo 4 as a way for your own “persistent Spartan IV” who is on board the UNSC Infinity to feed into the main storyline spawning a “second campaign”. How are they doing this you ask?  After Halo 4 releases, 343 will be releasing four short CGI mini-episodes each week starring the four new Spartan IV’s.  Your Spartan IV’s story can be played with your co-op friends online and your Spartan’s path is in your hands.  Your persistent Spartan IV will be available for use in free for all, co-op, team, and Infinity.  Not only will you be making physical changes to your Spartan over the story, but also combat changes to aid your Spartan in battle.

How much will all of this cost?  Free, well sort of.  If you buy the game new, it is free.  If you buy it used, you also have to purchase an online pass.  That’s right, 343 Industries joined the online pass crowd.

Halo 4 is releasing to very eager thumbs on November 6th, 2012.

Diablo 3 or “D3″ as  many fans are dubbing it is getting ready to launch tomorrow May 15th to an antsy PC crowd.  Meanwhile gamers on the console end have been waiting on word on whether on not Diablo 3 will see the light of day after Diablo makers Blizzard had posted job openings that appeared to make it seem like they wanted to test the waters with Diablo heading over the PS3 and or Xbox 360.  Well anxious console gamers I hate to burst your bubble, but that was not entirely true and Blizzard has the perfect explanation.

In an interview with Gamasutra, Blizzard’s Jay Wilson said that they were kind of lying in order to gain more employees, but they still remain unsure about Diablo’s future on a console.

“We tell people that basically we’re experimenting, because it helps us hire people. The better people we hire, the better chance we have to actually make it.  That’s why we haven’t kept it super secret, but we also haven’t confirmed it, because we’re not sure yet whether we think it will work, and whether we think we have the resources to do it.”

Take that however you want to, but I’ll pretty much say that’s a no for right now.

It’s not very often that any of the writers here at Gamercide post about anything but gaming news. It’s also not everyday that we’re all this excited about something or someone. In this case, it’s Dillon Hodges. Musician, singer, and songwriter.

I’ve wracked my brain trying to remember where I first came across “Bullet for a Broken Heart“. I’m sure it was on his website, but I don’t recall what led me there. If it was social media, I’m glad. Social media (in this case Twitter), is how I came to learn all about the man and his wonderful music. We’ve shared a few lines of text with each other, and his beautiful fiancé even thanked me for helping spread the word. He’s a gracious man, and from what I gather, bewildered that people would want to help him spread the word about his music. The answer, my friend, is quite simple — you are that good. Your music is so enjoyable, that people like myself find it odd that you’re not already famous. We want you to succeed so that we can enjoy your music for as long as possible.

Dillon Hodges has some music on his website, and on YouTube. However, if you’d like to help him fund his debut album, please consider visiting his Kickstarter page. The different bonuses for contributing, make wanting to help him that much more fun. We’ll all get to experience his first album, but some of us may even get our own personalized song, or concert. Imagine the near future when Dillon finally goes supernova big. You’ll be one of the few people that can say, “That guy wrote and recorded a song just for me!”. It’ll be absolutely true, and your song will now be coveted by legions of fans and collectors.

I’ve been informed that Dillon is a gamer.  If you play Demon/Dark Souls, keep an open eye and shield out for someone who just may be singing as they invade your game! I don’t know if he really invades games, but it would be awesome if he did!

The content will be for free and will contain extending endings and Bioware promises further clarity in regards to the end of Shepard’s story.  Executive Producer Casey Hudson says,  ”We have reprioritised our post-launch development efforts to provide the fans who want more closure with even more context and clarity to the ending of the game, in a way that will feel more personalised for each player.”

Former Microsoft employee and Fable Designer Peter Molyneux said in a recent press conference that he wants gamers to know that they will not be “leaping” through the air.

“From the blogs and the posts that I’ve seen, there’s a lot of skepticism out there.  People think that they’re going to be leaping around the room or they’re going to have to shout at the top of their voice and feel embarrassed. We don’t want that – we want you to feel relaxed.”

Molyneux isn’t the only one that was on the Fable team that is speaking out.  Both Dene and Simon Carter are saying that the response has not been “fair” and that if this was a Mario game, nobody would even question it.

“Why there can’t be room for a Kinect side spin-off of the Fable franchise I don’t know.  That seems a bit odd. I can’t think of any good reason why that would not work. If this was a Mario thing for example, if this was a Mario shooter based on the Wii controller, nobody would go, ‘That’s a terrible thing. That should never have happened. That’s a betrayal blah blah blah vitriol vitriol.”

Is Fable ready for Kinect, but more importantly are fans ready to take a Kinect only Fable game seriously?
